Rubber keypads require full surface printing for laser etching and cutting to achieve LED backlight effects, in addition to text or symbol printing.

Considerations:

Opt for pad printing (transfer printing) for rubber keypads with high and even surfaces. However, ensure that text or symbols printed using transfer printing are not thicker or glossier than those printed using silkscreen printing.

Printing Abrasion and Protection for Silicone Rubber Keypads:

The font or symbols on silicone rubber keypads, along with spray paint, are susceptible to wearing off over time. To mitigate this issue, the application of coatings such as Matt Smooth Coating (Touch Feeling Oil), PU coating, UV coating, Epoxy Coating, or Plastic Button Cover is essential. These coatings enhance durability and protect the printed elements, ensuring longevity and maintaining aesthetic appeal.

Note: Glossy printed rubber keypads don’t require a matte smooth coating after printing.
