Introducing our Color Coated Rubber Keyboard, also known as Color Coated Silicone Keyboard or Color Coated Keyboard. It’s a versatile solution for creating multi-colored keypads. This technology involves applying different color inks to a clear elastomer keypad, resulting in a visually appealing and functional product. To ensure excellent functionality and visibility, the keypads are laser etched with symbols and graphics, allowing for effective backlighting. This process is particularly suited to uneven surfaces, overcoming the limitations of traditional screen printing. By applying a color coating to these surfaces and laser-etching symbols onto the keys, we achieve both great looks and tactile functionality.

Color Coating Process

In our detailed process for coloring rubber keypads, we meticulously apply layers of color to the silicone surface. For example, if we’re making a rubber keypad with a black background and white symbols, we start by spraying white onto the keypad. Then we add a layer of black to cover the white base. To make the white symbols stand out, we use laser etching for precise and clear results.

For multi-colored keypads, we make sure the colors do not mix. We use extra keycaps to cover buttons that aren’t to be colored. This ensures that the color coating only goes where it’s supposed to and prevents unwanted color mixing. Once the coating is complete, removing these caps reveals the rubber keys in their original vibrant colors, resulting in a high-quality, visually appealing final product.
