OEM Backlit Silicone Button Rubber Key Keypad

The Backlit Keypad, also referred to as a backlit keyboard, optimizes the characteristics of keypad materials by integrating LEDs to achieve impressive backlighting effects. Typically composed of silicone rubber, plastic, metal, and other materials, it is commonly known as a silicone rubber backlit keypad.

These keypads primarily utilize translucent or transparent silicone materials to maximize backlighting. Additionally, techniques such as laser etching, screen printing, spray coating, and PU coating are employed to enhance backlighting effects.

Here are some variations of silicone rubber backlit keypads:

  • Laser Engraved Backlit Keypad:

These keypads undergo a color spray coating process after the basic silicone keypads are completed. Following this, a laser engraving process is employed to achieve the desired backlighting effects. Additionally, many silicone keypads require a protective PU coating or matte smooth treatment post laser engraving to safeguard the sprayed coated layer and legends.

  • Translucent Silicone Backlit Keypad:

These keypads leverage the inherent properties of silicone, which is naturally translucent or transparent. The degree of transparency varies based on the quality of the silicone material used. While some keypads opt for a protective cover tool to preserve the translucent parts and undergo a two-layer spray coating, others choose a mixed color process for less transparency. However, it’s important to note that the former method tends to be more costly.

  • Silk Screen Printed Backlit Keypad:

In contrast to traditional backlit keypads that require spray painting before font or symbol printing, silk screen printed backlit keypads omit this step. This approach eliminates the need for spray coating. Moreover, for enhanced backlighting effects on legends, some keypads may skip the PU coating or opt for UV+PU coating, relying instead on the transparency of the silicone material.
